While close-up coverage of  Super Bowl XL was essential, ESPN also needed a space that was near enough to the action, but with easier access, more control and more privacy than the RenCen or Ford Field, while still maintaining full technical support. What they found was that the Detroit Broadcast Center fit the bill perfectly. The combination of location, crew and equipment served to make a full week of pre-game live and live-to-tape shows go off without a hitch. Some of the shows produced by ESPN at DBC:

"Around the Horn", currently moderated by ESPN's Tony Reali,  a fast paced, 30-minute program featuring the unbridled wit and wisdom of some of the country's leading sports columnists, from such newspapers as the Boston Globe, Chicago Sun-Times, Dallas Morning News, Denver Post and Los Angeles Times. Our Detroit panelist was Woody Paige, Denver Post columnist and veteran of 27 Superbowls, 12 Summer and Winter Olympics, numerous World series, and NBA and Stanley Cup Finals.

"Pardon the Interruption", where Washington Post columnists Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon face off on the day's hot sports topics. The critically acclaimed show is fast-paced, innovative and humorous, and includes an interview with a top newsmaker or two.

Seasoned television and radio sports talk authority Jim Rome brings his signature style of rapid-fire dialogue and hard-hitting analysis and opinions to "Rome is Burning". The half-hour show is a mix of interviews with guests in-studio and via satellite, and Rome's unique take on what's going on in sports.

In addition, numerous last-minute guests, celebrities, and athletes were invited over to share their unique take on one of the sports worlds biggest parties!
